I work with organisations that have strong intent and capability, but are facing challenges in clarity, alignment or communication, particularly when it comes to how they connect with their community, articulate their value, or move from ideas into coordinated action.

Often the work is already good. The challenge is that it isn’t landing, isn’t aligned, or isn’t being translated into a clear and compelling story that people inside and outside the organisation can understand.

Where I typically step in

I’m usually brought in when organisations are experiencing one or more of the following:

  • leadership has a strong vision, but it isn’t clearly translated across the organisation

  • teams are working hard, but not fully aligned or prioritised

  • communication (internal or external) isn’t clearly reflecting the quality of the work

  • there are too many ideas, and not enough structure to move them forward

  • the organisation knows it needs to better connect with its community or audience, but isn’t sure how

In practice, this can look like a psychology clinic needing to better connect with its community and increase client engagement, a not-for-profit refining how it tells its story to funders and stakeholders, or a creative organisation trying to align its internal teams around a shared direction.

What I actually do

When I step into an organisation, I start by understanding the real constraint—not just what is visible, but what is sitting underneath it.

From there, I help create structure and clarity so people can move forward with confidence.

This often involves:

  • identifying the core challenge (not just the symptoms)

  • clarifying the organisation’s story, purpose and value

  • reviewing how they currently communicate with staff, stakeholders or community

  • mapping gaps between intention and perception

  • developing a clear framework for priorities and action

  • helping translate leadership vision into something usable by teams

In some cases, this includes reviewing websites, messaging, service descriptions, social media presence and broader content or communications strategy. In others, it involves working more internally with leadership or teams to realign direction, strengthen decision-making, and develop clearer approaches to storytelling, engagement and impact.

This can extend through to shaping content plans, refining how work is communicated across platforms, and developing practical strategies that help organisations better connect with the people they’re trying to reach.

The focus is always the same: turning complexity into something clear, usable and actionable.

When this work is effective, organisations often experience:

  • clearer decision-making and prioritisation

  • stronger alignment across teams

  • improved communication internally and externally

  • better connection with community, clients or stakeholders

I work from a producer’s perspective—looking at how all the parts of an organisation connect: people, story, systems, communication and delivery.

I focus on what is missing, what is not being said clearly enough, and what is needed to move things forward.

My role is not to add more complexity, but to reduce it—so organisations can focus on what matters most and execute with clarity.
